Go to the heights of Uccle and admire the panorama. Nestled between Wolvendael Park and the Bois de la Cambre, the Observatory district offers both spaces for strolling and lively places. With its high quality educational and sports facilities, friendly shops and efficient public transport, the Observatory district is the bourgeois family district of Brussels by far.
Welcome to the Observatory district, a few steps from the Churchill district and the Dieweg. You are on the heights of Uccle. Walking, sports, culture, laughter and shopping… here you can go from the calm of the Wolvendael park to the joyful hubbub created by the students of the international schools in only a few minutes.
We will meet you at the Houzeau bus stop. From there, walk up the avenue of the same name in the direction of the Royal Observatory of Belgium. It takes only 5 minutes to reach the site. Located in the heart of magnificent gardens, the buildings, some of which are overhung by domes, house the scientific institution for meteorological research, planetology, astronomy, seismology and solar physics. A tip: take advantage of the open house to visit the site with your children.
Head east on Avenue de l’Observatoire, then Avenue du Vert Chasseur. It is here, a few steps away from the Bois de la Cambre, that you will find the Vert Chasseur, a shopping district of Brussels where trendy fashion brands are well established. Take advantage of this area to eat or shop in the renowned delicatessens and caterers.
Are you more into jogging than shopping? The Observatoire district is full of sports clubs and places to work out. From the Vert Chasseur, continue towards the North-East. At the edge of the Bois de la Cambre you will find the Brussel Lawn Tennis Club.
On the side of the Brugmann park you will find the Longchamp swimming pool or the Ucclois diving center (CUP). Once you have finished your sport session, continue your journey and take the bus 41 or 136 to stop at the Villa Lorraine located on Chaussée de la Hulpe, a gastronomic restaurant of which you will give us news.
Are you seduced by the many possibilities offered by the Observatory district in Brussels? You should know that it is full of numerous 4-frontal villas, luxury buildings and, on avenue de Fré and chaussée de Waterloo, buildings with elegant facades. Now all you have to do is discover…
